#17 in the 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge

Coast of the Gulf of St. Lawrence in Newfoundland

This is a 5 by 7 inch (12.7 x 17.8 cm) watercolor on 140 lb. cold pressed watercolor paper. We were walking the beach on the west coast of Newfoundland, watching the little wading birds. The sun tried to peek through the overcast sky as I took the photo from which this picture was painted.

St. Lawrence Gulf Coast - $30.00.  Click here to buy.

Beach Near La Push, WA

I started this little painting on the beach just down the road from La Push but, after almost 2 hours in the sun, with no shade in sight, I packed it in and finished it in my studio when I got home.

The painting is 8 by 10 inches, oil on gesso board.

Arcadia National Park, New Pastels

I finished these 2 small pastels this week. Both depict the shore at Arcadia National Park from photos I took many years ago.  Both are about 4 1/4 x 5 3/4 inches, done on ColorFix sanded paper.

It's not what you look at that matters, it's what you see.
