Newfoundland Journal - St. John's

We only had one day in St. John's which is the capital of the Canadian province of Newfoundland Labrador and it rained. That didn't stop us from roaming around the waterfront but it did affect the quality of the photographs. Many of the stores and homes throughout the island are painted bright colors.

Newfoundland

I'm off on another trip to see things I've never seen before. I am taking the camera and should have a few pictures when I get back. In the meantime, I'll do a few posts from the road.

Muscoot Farm

Yesterday we packed a picnic lunch and drove up to the Muscoot Farm County Park in Westchester County, New York. This is a free park open to anyone. It's a lovely place to ramble. An added attaction is the farmers' market on Sundays. Of course I took pictures.

Welsh Meadow

I just finished this pastel of sheep grazing in a meadow in central Wales. My model was a photograph which I had taken while on vacation. We had rented a self-catering cottage on a farm north of the town of Rhayadar and stayed there for a week in 1999.

The picture is 9 by 12 inches on Canson Pastel paper.
