Bead Mystery Finished

If you saw my beaded bits back on my January 19th post and wondered what was going to come of them, here it is: a striped star.

From the front.

From the side, so you can see the three dimensionality of the star.

Beaded Bangle Bracelet

I just finished this beaded bracelet. It's a variation on a bracelet designed by Cynthia Rutledge and featured in the April 2011 issue of Bead and Button magazine. She used faceted rondelles and I used round beads. I also changed a few sizes for the other beads. My base was the same as hers but I had to finagle just about everything after that.

Monday Is For Beads

Most Mondays I get together with 3 friends and we work on our beading. Today I finished 2 bangle bracelets in the Russian Spiral pattern.

Beaded Bangle Bracelet

I made this bracelet using a pattern known as an African triple helix. It is a new type of beading for me but I'm having a lot of fun doing it. I just listed this particular bracelet for sale on my Etsy shop CabArray. I expect to be listing more in different colors in the very near future.

Florida Journal - The Rainy Day Beader

While in Orlando, we had some rainy and/or cold days which kept me indoors where I did quite a bit of beading. Even thought the bangles are not finished yet, the earrings are done. This is what I have been up to and will be putting into my etsy shop, CabArray in March.

And just for a little extra, a view across the fields on an east coast Florida Highway, taken on our way to Palm Beach.

The Progress of a Beaded Pin

This is a pin I designed and beaded. It measures 5 by 3 1/2 inches (13.5 by 9.5 cm). I forged the pin back from a piece of 14k gold-fill wire. The medallion in the center is a German glass hatpin top made about 1900 to 1910. The large green pebble shaped beads are malachite. All the seed beads are glass. It's beaded on crinoline and the backing is Ultrasuede.

Entry for LICG 50th Anniversary Show

"Contemplation" is beaded collar style necklace on which I have been working for some time. It is the first piece of beaded jewelry that I ever made even though it was the second to get finished. It will be in the Long Island Craft Guild's 50th Anniversary Show at the B. J. Spoke Gallery in Huntington, NY. Mid June I will be offering it for sale at CabArray, my Etsy Jewelry Shop.

It's not what you look at that matters, it's what you see.
