This is a photo of my Father taken about 1923. He never came home from World War II. I was 18 months old when he was killed. I often wonder what it would have been like to have had a father....

A powerful, touching sentiment... thank you for sharing.
Hi Martha,
We always complained about our dad but, crazy as he was he was always there for us. I imagine it was hard for you growing up without yours.

I have a good friend who's father didn't come home from WWII. It is very sobering. No, there is no good war. My dad did come home, and I was born years later. Life is beyond understanding to me.
I'm so sorry you lost your father at such a young age. Your picture and words are timely for this day of remembrance.
My dad lost his father when he was 2.
True Christians should not feel the need to support a war.
thats sad and stuff
Hi Martha,
My Father died when I was 3years old, however I didn't discover this until I was in my 20's.
I have never seen a photo of him and don't even know if any exist for I have no contact with his family either.
But I have been blessed to have had the most wonderful Step-Dad, who my eldest son is named after and I know that I could love him no more than if we shared the same blood.
Enjoy your photos of your Dad....
