The Bookcase

This 4 by 8 inch (10.2 x 20.3 cm) original watercolor is painted on archival 140 lb. cold pressed watercolor paper. The subject of the painting is based on one of my own bookcases.


The end has come to the challenge. I did it, which was very satisfying. Having said that, I have to admit that it put a lot of pressure on me. It wasn't the painting - it was trying to decide what to paint and if the subject was too involved to paint within a couple of hours.

I'd do it again, but not for a while.

La Baraka

This miniature watercolor painting is 5 3/4 by 5 3/4 inches (14.6 x 14.6 cm). La Baraka is great little French restaurant in Queens, NY. I did the drawing there this afternoon and put in the color when I got back to the studio. The picture was done on archival 140 lb. watercolor paper.

This miniature 4 by 6 inch (10.2 x 15.2 cm) watercolor was painted on 140 lb. cold pressed watercolor paper. When I was a child I used to play in a hay field that was separated from the next farm by a small woods which turned brilliant colors in the Autumn.

"Apple" is a miniature acrylic on 140 lb. cold pressed watercolor paper. It measures 4 by 5 inches (10.2 x 12.7 cm). This is not a very realistic looking apple but there was this very retro feel to it that appealed to me. I can see it in a 1940's kitchen.
