The Twined Rug is Finished

The hardest part was cutting the strips of cloth. I went out and bought one of those cutting wheels that make a pinked edge so that the next one will go faster. The finished rug is approximately 26 by 36 inches. I was thinking of putting the rug up for sale but decided against it. After all, it is my first and I'm rather attached to it.

Twined Rug in Progress

This is as far as I have gotten. It took longer to cut the warp stripes than I thought it would because I had to keep oiling the pinking scissors after cutting every six or seven strips. The strips were about 2 yards long. I used an old but still very sturdy top sheet.

Almost finished.

Warp is finished - now to twine.

Rug Looms

As a Christmas present my brother and his wife bought me these two rug looms for making twined rugs. They also got me a book telling me how to do it. I'll post progress pictures as I go.
