Our Western Journey - Dead Horse Point State Park, Utah

This state park is just north and on the other side of the highway from Arches NP.

The mesa on the left is the Monitor and, on the right, is the Merrimack.

View from the point with the salt pans just visible on the canyon floor.

A better view of the salt pans.

On the narrow land bridge connecting the Dead Horse mesa to the main plateau.

The green strip on the canyon floor is the Colorado River.

Our Western Journey - Arches National Park

Some of the arches in the park. The day we were there, the temperature was about 105F in the shade, except there wasn't much shade.

Park City, Utah

We were in Park City for five days. We go almost every year for a family reunion. The altitude is 10,060 feet which makes it very comfortable during the day and sweatshirt temperature at night during most of the summer.

On the Road

I'm off to see the world; well, actually I'm only going as far as Utah. My family has a reunion every summer and I try to get there as often as I can. This means I'll not be putting up any pictures for the next week because we are not taking our laptop with us. I will be posting from an I-touch but you will have to wait until next week for the photos. Hope you all having as much fun as I'll be having.

Have You Ever Shopped at Second Hand Chic?

Second Hand Chic is a great vintage/2nd hand shop in Salt Lake City, Utah. OK - I'm saying up front, it's owned by my cousin, Kelly and I get the family discount BUT, that said, it's a great place to shop and you NEVER know what you will find. Mind you, I am NOT a second hand shop buyer BUT I found a great item for a Christmas present, a nifty little winter hat which has created envy in the hearts of many of my friends and a belt that Paul needed after losing his to a conveyer belt at an airport. (The belt was nicer than the one he lost so that worked out really well.)

If you are in Salt Lake City, do stop by. it's at 900 East 2006 South. It's open Monday - Saturday 10 to 6. 801-433-0044

Oh, by the way she has the cutest little doggie in town.
