Decorating Clarks Shoes

The local Clarks Shoe store give a number of single shoes to decorate for Christmas. They will be used in their store here in Hanover. Each decorator will get a discount coupon toward their next pair of shoes. Below is my effort.

The Second Challenge - September 2016

When I finished the 30 paintings in 30 days challenge in January, 2014, I said I'd do it again however, I didn't really think I would. So, here I am again but better prepared. Before this challenge started I picked out 40 photos I thought would make good subjects for painting. That alone got rid of most of the stress that I experienced last time.

We are ready to eat - corned beef and cabbage with carrots and potatoes and soda bread. This year it was my friend Doris's turn to make the meal.

The Year Away and a Cooper's Hawk

It has been over a year since my last post. In that time we have moved from Long Island to Pennsylvania and suffered some serious health issues. I have also gotten away from Art. I've missed not doing my doings and have just recently started a small water color. I hope to have it done by the beginning of next week.

At our new home a Cooper's hawk enjoyed a Mourning Dove on our front lawn. He ate some of it and took off with the rest. I assume there were some chicks looking for dinner....

#30 in the 30 Paintings in 30 Days

The Bookcase

This 4 by 8 inch (10.2 x 20.3 cm) original watercolor is painted on archival 140 lb. cold pressed watercolor paper. The subject of the painting is based on one of my own bookcases.

The end has come to the challenge. I did it, which was very satisfying. Having said that, I have to admit that it put a lot of pressure on me. It wasn't the painting - it was trying to decide what to paint and if the subject was too involved to paint within a couple of hours.

I'd do it again, but not for a while.

"The Bookcase" - $30.00.    Click here to Purchase.
